Event Description

Tour Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park - North Unit aboard a tractor-pulled haywagon, enjoy nature activities, take a self-guided hike, participate in the scavenger hunt or do it all! Plus enjoy free cider, a campfire, and marshmallows to roast on the fire. This event is made possible thanks to the support of the Friends of Cherokee Marsh. An accessible portable restroom is provided. 

Last hayride departure time: 3:40pm. No reservations are needed.

Parking Tips

  • Limited vehicle parking is available at the main trailhead event site and the area is likely to be congested.
  • Please consider carpooling, biking or parking in the secondary lot and walking a short distance to the event site.

Cost 

  • Hayride - $3/ per person (children 2 and under are free); cash only and exact change is greatly appreciated.
  • Hike on your own - always free! 

Important - please read

  • One wagon offers an ADA accessible ramp, and one wagon provides stairs to enter/exit the wagon.  
  • Wagon rides happen rain or shine, however, ice or snow will cancel the event.
  • Pets are not allowed at this event or any conservation park.
  • Picnics are not allowed in conservation parks.

Volunteers Needed 

Spend a few hours in nature and help make this event a success! Volunteers are needed for snack helper, kids' activities, and hike guides.  Contact: John Weichelt, Parks Volunteer Coordinator if you have questions.
