High Injury Network Map (above)

The creation of a High Injury Network (HIN) map is an integral part of Vision Zero. It uses city-specific crash data to determine where to focus resources to eliminate serious and fatal crashes. It is the first step in helping develop projects and programming. The methodology for the High Injury Network was developed in collaboration with the UW’s Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory.

Small improvement projects are funded through Safe Streets Madison

Larger scale reconstruction and resurfacing projects that make improvements along the High Injury Network are completed by City Engineering.
