  • Traffic Enforcement: Midtown Police District Captain Shannon Blackamore reported that another focused effort to enforce speed limits on the Beltline took place on September 8 using funding from a “Speed Grant". Concentrating at the Whitney Way interchange, seven officers made 30 stops, issued 31 citations and 17 warnings. The top recorded speed was 82 mph.
  • Dale Heights Church Redevelopment Neighborhood Meeting: Next Tuesday, September 15, I'm hosting a virtual meeting at 6 pm in which Threshold Sacred Development will present preliminary plans for redeveloping the Dale Heights Presbyterian Church at 5501 University Avenue. The existing structures would be demolished, and three new buildings would be constructed. The new buildings would be composed of about 8,000 square feet of space for the Dale Heights Presbyterian Church and Sah-Lang Korean Church, plus 110 to 120 units of affordable apartments. Postcards were sent to residents of surrounding neighborhoods. This is a public meeting, and you can also use the link to register.
