Residential Parking Permit Basics

Below you will find the basic need-to-know information about how to place and use a residential parking permit.

Placement

Attach permit on the inside lower-left (driver's side) corner of the windshield

place your permit on front left fork of motorcycle/moped, or on the inside lower-left vehicle window on the drivers side

Reminders

Residential parking permits only provide exemption from 1- or 2-hour parking restrictions.

Additional Restrictions Still Apply

  • Weekly Street Maintenance
  • Alternate Side Parking (Nov 15 – March 15)
  • Metered Parking
  • Vehicles must be moved every 48 hours
  • Follow ALL street signage and markings

You can also be ticketed if:

  • Permit is improperly displayed
  • Permit is unreadable
  • License plate or vehicle does not match the permit
  • The vehicle is parked outside of the approved zone or in
    non-residential parking zones

Replacement Permits

There is a fee of $11.00 for a replacement permit.

Replace your permit if:

  • Your address changes
  • The permit becomes lost or damaged
  • The permitted vehicle changes
  • Windshield is damaged in a way that impairs permit visibility
  • The registration changes
Example Maintenance Sign: No Parking 8am-12pm Wednesdays, May 1 - Nov. 15
Example Maintenance Sign: No Parking 9am-noon, Thursdays
The permit privileges do not include parking at meters
